Alumni Short to Screen at Top Film Festivals
C-Town Film Factory, a local film collaborative comprised of former classmates – Jonathan Koenig, Damon Smith, Benjamin Measor, Robert G. Putka, and Rob Bartley – received news last month that their darkly comedic short film, “MOUTHFUL” will premiere in competition at the SXSW Film Festival. Widely regarded by both the trades and filmmakers alike as being among the top 5-10 film festivals in the world, SXSW takes place in Austin, Texas from March 9th through the 17th, and boasts an incredible slate of films from across the globe. Adding to the success, this film was shot in Lakewood and comprised of an entirely local crew of college-aged students. The only exception being the two lead actors – 2009 Sundance Alumni Conor Casey, and NYC native Eilis Cahill. With the official announcement of the SXSW schedule, the young men over at C-Town Film Factory have also launched a website devoted to the short film(http://www.mouthfulmovie.com/). On it, you can find information on upcoming screenings, reviews, and more importantly, a link to their indiegogo-based campaign(http://www.indiegogo.com/mouthful) where you can donate funds to help them make the trip out to SXSW.
Along with SXSW, “MOUTHFUL” has been invited to screen at the Academy-Award qualifying Florida Film Festival, as well as at the Vail Film Festival.
