Students get hands on training using state of the art, professional equipment. This year we have adding 25 new Apple Mac Pro workstations with dual quad core processors, putting us on the cutting edge of computer technology. Every student in the program gets to work on their own editing station equiped with the full Abobe CS4 Master Collection. We now edit on both the Avid and Final Cut Pro platforms. Most of what you see on television and in the movies (80-90% by some estimates) has been edited on a Avid editing system. Final Cut has also made huge inroads in the film and video production industries. We have added five new JVC GY-HM100U high definition cameras for the 2009-2010 school year. Many film schools and independent filmmakers use the Panasonic DVX100A cameras. We have 13 of them. There are never more than 24 students in a class. For video and audio production, from lighting to microphones, software, tripods, steady cams, and camera jibs, no expense is spared providing students with the resources they need to develop their production skills.

TELEVISION STUDIO:Students produce the Valley News and learn what it takes to create a weekly news magazine program. In the control room students get hands-on experience with our Panasonic MX70 digital video switcher, Mackie 1402 VLZ Pro 16 channel audio mixer, Compix Media LCG 3000D Character Generator, Edirol PR-50 realtime video presenter and more. Using Panasonic DVX100A digital video cameras, Bogen tripods and dollies, Prompter People Broadcast 17 teleprompter system, Camplex Pro X1 multiplexing system, Desisti and Lowel studio lights and a Formatech custom made studio backdrop, students find out what its like to produce and work on a TV show.
