Because it is so important for students to see real professionals at work, we take many field trips in Media Technology. This gives students the opportunity to see that professionals use many of the same software packages and pieces of equipment that we use here. Students see their dreams in action and get real advice from real people working in the industry.

WKYC TV3, CLEVELAND: Media Tech students toured the station and got to ask WKYC staffers such as News Director Kim Fatica questions about what it’s like to work in broadcast journalism. Students saw that WKYC uses Avid Editors just like they do in class.

WJW FOX8, CLEVELAND: Media Tech students toured the  station and got to ask WJW staffers such as reporter Kenny Crumpton questions about what it’s like to be a reporter in the Cleveland market. Students saw that WJW uses Avid, Photoshop, and After Effects just like they do in class.

QUICKEN LOANS ARENA: Students took turns operating the equipment at “The Q”.  At the Q they use Avid editors as well as Maya and After Effects. Media Tech students got their hands on the cameras and switcher, thanks to Video Production Manager Jonny Greco

ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME: Media Tech students toured the museum and attended a lecture to learn about rock and roll producing, recording,  performing, marketing, and more.

EDR MEDIA, BEACHWOOD STUDIOS: Media Tech students toured the production facility that produces broadcast programs and commercials, retail media networks, and a wide variety of business media applications. EDR uses Avid editors, After Effects, Flash and Pro Tools.

CINECRAFT: A video production company for more than 65 years, Cinécraft offers corporate video and film production, CD-ROM, DVD and Web Development, and the staging of special events. Cinecraft uses Photoshop, Flash, After Effects, Dreamweaver, and Avid.

CREATIVE HOUSE STUDIOS: Northeast Ohio's Largest Free-Market Green Screen Studio. This facility can be rented by any production company, corporation, photographer or individual may rent the facilities at reasonable rates.
